I believe in the preachings of Jesus Christ. The Word of God, as shared in the Book of Matthew, Chapter 5, verses 3–10, offers insight into the perplexing nature of humanity and salvation.

I start with Jesus’ first declaration of a sign of compassion.

Jesus explains, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Revealing a spirit poorly characterized is no defining sin in the eyes of our Lord and Savior. He redeems through forgiveness.

Jesus continues, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”

Emotions are innate to the psyche. I am the embodiment of comfort in mourning, embracing its healing nature that determines my response.

Jesus characterizes, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.”

I shall inherit the Earth. My being available to others will reveal the love of Jesus Christ, who shall lead me to the Father.

Jesus demands, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”

I will hunger and thirst for God’s righteousness, being faithful through prayer that I be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Jesus enlightens, “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.”

I vow kindness toward my neighbor, loving with that purpose as Jesus did.

Jesus purifies, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”

I shall look to the clouds for Jesus’ return, honoring the Lord for His sacrifice. I shall fall to my knees.

Jesus orders, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”

Be thankful for God’s blessings as freedom reigns in the value of human life. We are His children.

Jesus instructs, “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

When tribulations haunt me, I shall rise above them in service to the Father.

We must care about our lives and feel destined to exist in God’s light, soulfully aware of the salvation we have been given. We do not know the time when God will call His children to Him, but preparedness promises us access to His love.
