Barbara had a mid-life crisis over the divorce from her husband. George led an affair with a waitress at this local greasy spoon for months, disregarding his commitment to loyalty. A hard lesson taught Barbara to no longer allow people to take her kindness for granted. Barbara was an attractive woman who finally concluded her heart deserved to survive beyond his infidelities. Barbara found out about the affair from George on her wedding anniversary. He had stayed gone for days without concern for her worries. George finally chose to leave his wife after assuming his mistress would want him in her life full-time, but this new relationship eventually failed.

George worked in a career that paid more yearly income than Barbara earned working in a minimum wage job. The cost of the divorce led to an abundance of new stresses in her life, and Barbara took up a campaign to raise money amongst friends to finance a lawyer. She quickly realized these people wanted nothing to do with choosing one side over the other. Friends opted to stay neutral while avoiding her requests with little white lies about their busy lives. George proceeded with his affairs, and that ended over stresses from the divorce proceedings. Barbara caused the numerous women to realize an unfaithful man has no place in a good woman's life.

After arriving at the court hearing without a representative to account for her claims, the judge awarded George with their assets. Barely making her monthly bills, a determined Barbara came up with a new idea to earn some extra income. A simple investment in some baking ingredients allowed her to make some tasty treats. Barbara enjoyed making cookies over the years and began to master the artistry. Baking day and night, she had plenty of products to sell around her community, but Barbara needed an outlet to package her treats if these cookies were to succeed. After calling a few acquaintances she knew from George's professional ties, a friend named Carl Vincent knew the perfect place to acquire packaging.

Carl worked for a midsize manufacturer in lithographic printing, and he felt the affordability of their product designs would help Barbara sell cookies by the truckloads. A simple exchange of thank you led to several orders being filled; Barbara phoned businesses on her mobile phone on that Monday morning after production delivered enough products to go statewide. Barbara had initially bought just enough product to start a local effort, as she had not expected to mass-produce cookies by the thousands of dozens. She kept a determination that drove a hard bargain. She invented machinery that finished so many cookies that hiring staff became her next endeavor.

Neighbors often heard Barbara singing throughout the day while baking her delicious sugary snacks. The ambitious woman had once run the process from her home in the heart of downtown Lexington, Kentucky. A year passed quickly, and investors learned equally fast that the Bashing Cookies Company sold products faster than the cookies could reach the shelves. The next thing Barbara knew after such experiences taught her heartily, a few dozen new employees led to an assembly line manufacturing her brand more efficiently than ever before.

Within a few more months, her successes grew in a rented space. Barbara ran a business that grew and grew and then acquired that large facility, suiting her continued capacity for filling orders worldwide. Barbara moved north to Cincinnati to secure the new building. Its machinery streamlined the processes for making her cookies and a patten secured the rights to an operational system that worked nicely. Barbara served as a Chief Executive Officer and had enrolled in a local program teaching business study.

The businesswoman worked tirelessly to manufacture her products and to turn in assignments on time. Her staff grew ever founder of her as the founder of such an esteemed cultural success. Barbara paid employees well and offered stock in the company that they had built together. A newly founded fortune gifted Barbara with a heap of financial rewards, so she started new foundations to combat domestic violence against both women and men. Barbara named the foundation The Bashing Cookies Project.

The Foundation for Escaping Domestic Violence became a huge success in the community. An exchange on Wall Street became breaking news, and even George heard about her successes, labeling her the Cookie Queen of Cincinnati. She accepted the honor gladly. Barbara even sent George a postcard from Barbados soon after winning business of the year in her hometown. She lavished in wealth while enjoying a lifestyle enriched with rewarded praise.

Barbara's postcard read.

“Dear George,

I just thought about you sitting in our old house in Lexington. I appreciate the discouragement you always offered me. Your actions inspired me to have higher expectations for myself. Maybe stop in any of my stores in every state and many cities. I will be sure that my staff offers you some freshly baked sugar cookies for free. I know how you always loved them. I hope you can see how these tasty treats are a constant reminder of how great life can be at times when heartache leads to finding some incredibly sweet dreams.

I also hope your health is well and life offers you an abundance of blessings. I wanted to thank you for helping to teach me a valued amount of self-respect. I discovered that I deserve love and the very best this life can offer. I wish you all the best. You should pursue counseling at any of my centers for domestic violence. I can meet you there for support, which was a gesture that you failed to offer me as your wife. I do not live life through the misguidance of strife.

Sincerely,

Barbara

Barbara finally reached the pinnacle of success by expressing her self-care in the postcard to George. In the weeks leading to such a kind gesture, Barbara received an honorary award from the City of Cincinnati for her humanitarian efforts to save lives. The Bashing Cookies Company was a business named the best place to work for employees.

A ceremony held by Mayor Barclay gave her the key to the city. Barbara knew nothing material would ever be a better accomplishment than the self-love that lifted her from the pain she once felt. Barbara felt that love wholeheartedly every time she saw those products on shelves.

Now Barbara married the man of her dreams. Calvin Hopkins fell madly in love with his bride after they mistook each other for their likeness as childhood friends. After only one date, Calvin proposed marriage and signed a prenuptial agreement denouncing any claim to her immense fortune. The couple lived happily with professional lives, assuring their individuality.

Calvin even paid for their modest home. No maid service or staff waited on the wealthy pair, and when tasks at home became necessary, Calvin and Barbara completed these tasks without complaining. Barbara finally succeeded in her master plan to live as a woman who deserved better than abuse could offer. Her life sure was a sweet change after love became the main ingredient in her products.
