Urge the Word

I used to keep a dictionary on the back of my toilet to improve my vocabulary. Every learned word appeared in my conversations with meaning and purpose. Preservation is the key to articulation. I have a loving affair with the English language.

I once assumed a slang-based voice fueled by a cultural preference. My influence came with an identity formed in the streets. Our identity can change, but every sincere impression lasts for a lifetime. I adore the mastery of one’s written meter and the influence rapping had on my creativity. I learned to speak with a cadence, as words from my poetry often do.

Words are all about the world’s resemblance, how our existence shifts through here and there, and provides a reference to what happens in between the pages. When a group of words aligns well with what is believable, every recipient, knowing each definition, strings these concepts together to tell stories.

The reader committed to a story finds the make-believe or truthful topic relatable, but only when enough understanding brings a world of imagination to the forefront of one’s curiosity.

Falling in love with a character from a magical place happens when one’s character recognizes how words describe being. Delving into each word’s details takes the mind further than it’s ever been before. I go willingly. How about you?
